Unicaf University Participates in the Emerge-Eden Conference
Unicaf University in Zambia proudly participated in the Emerge-Eden International Model United Nations Conference 2026, held from June 1-5 in Lusaka, under the theme: ‘Beyond 2030: Rethinking Global Cooperation, Accountability, and Youth Action in a Polarized World.’ The conference brought together approximately 250 delegates from Zambia and around the world, creating a youth leadership and diplomatic development platform for young leaders to engage in discussions on diplomacy, international cooperation, sustainable development and global governance.
By participating in simulations of international institutions such as the United Nations General Assembly, African Union and the International Court of Justice, as well as engaging in structured discussions on emerging global challenges, committee sessions, policy-drafting exercises, training workshops and networking activities, young leaders were able to develop their leadership skills, deepen their understanding of global affairs, and engage in meaningful intercultural exchanges with fellow participants.
Unicaf University in Zambia participated in the conference with a delegation of 10 students, representing the institution across different committees. The students distinguished themselves through active engagement in discussions, sessions and simulations throughout the conference, with one of our students receiving the ‘Best Delegate Award’ and another two students receiving Honourable Mentions, all in recognition of their outstanding performance, participation and contributions to the conference.
Overall, the 2026 Emerge-Eden Conference provided a highly valuable platform for youth leadership development, diplomacy, and global engagement, with Unicaf University in Zambia’s students demonstrating strong commitment and representing the institution with distinction throughout the conference. Unicaf University looks forward to participating in similar conferences and events in the future, providing students and young people with a platform for personal, academic and professional growth through practical learning experiences.
