Aims of the Programme
The aim of the programme is to offer students the opportunity to examine literary, theoretical and critical texts of a variety of genres and periods, from different cultural contexts, fostering advanced skills of comprehension, interpretation and analysis.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the programme, the student will be expected to:
a) Analyse literary texts using selected theories and identify the culture, genre, and historical context they belong to.
b) Apply a wide range of schools of thought to literary phenomena presented in particular texts.
c) Identify themes that run through the textual narratives and demonstrate how they impact society.
d) Discuss the ways in which gender and sexuality organise social structures, cultural practices and identity.
e) Demonstrate the employment of stylistic devices in the selected text by the narrator.
